you don't need an editing software to make a nice presentation of your products. I found this great website which helps you create your own video clip with photos you upload or from you flickr/ facebook/any other account you have already uploaded photos to.

It is back! special screaming for Craftomania's new look!
Screaming week!!!!

Join us , this is how it goes:

The idea is simple, we are all screaming different things on twitter and the chances are that most of it gets ignored. But if we all unite to tweet the same things, we have more power in making a difference and being noticed by others!

So what you need to do is ;
1. Go to ETSY and search for craftomania at the search box.
2. try to choose a few items from several shops and scream about them on your twitter with this added- #craftomania.
3. Then search for other results from #craftomania and re-tweet what others are tweeting, the more we tweet about each other the more we get heard.

A. Staff will be actively browsing through Treasury East lists and promoting collections that are awe-inspiring. While we won't be able to feature every list, we'll certainly be looking through as many as we can for Treasury East Day.

Q. I see my item featured on the home page! What can I do to take best advantage?
A. Congrats! If you see your item featured on the home page, you may edit the item to increase your item quantity if you have multiples of your item. This will help your item remain featured on the home page until the entire stock of your items sells out or a new list is featured. Keep in mind not to edit the actual item or item photos; the item was selected for the home page because of its original format.

Hi Friends!
I'm back from Berlin! it was amazing, and if you'll ever get the chance to go you will have the best time! It was a fun surprise from my dear mom, and we were three on this trip: mom, deer and I.

the volcano didn't want us to leave so we had to stay for a couple more days, but that was OK, we just had to have more shopping :) I bought the most amazing design books!!! but there is no place like home and I'm so happy to be back to my home.

and now that I'm back I was so happy to see that Treasury East is on! we added the link to the toolbar so use it wisely :)

I'm in the process of renewing the look of Craftomania, so there will be many changes very soon.
And that's way I'm very busy working on the new design for the blog.

Hello Craftomanians,

We have achieved critical mass!
Thanks to your continuing efforts and support our community has grown and our Team is ready to launch!

Soon we will be issuing our Team manifest and hold our first members meeting!
(We haven't decided on where to meet yet, the toolbar chat room, etsy's forum, or at our community network new site)

But, first things first: You all need to meet and get to know each other, so we can work effectively as a Team. The best way to do it, we thought, is to get you away from all the noises of the city (Etsy/Twitter/facebook etc..), and gather in one suburban getaway which is ours; our own network, without any distractions, only Craftomanians, talking craft, Team work and world domination. :D

Explain the name of your shop:

well, It kind of came about by accident.I had come up with a name but wasn’t totally sure of it…(I can’t really remember what the original name was now!)…so, I did a google search for a comparable word and in one of the descriptions was “monster in the closet” and it caught my attention. The friend that I

was with saw it too and we both thought

it sounded so cool. I liked the fact that

it reflected children and fun and silly…

what I wanted my company and products to display. It went on from there and people always seem to remark or have a story when I reveal the name, I like that. I also like that I am showing monsters in a fun, friendly way!

Printmaking, Linoleum, Collage, Mixed Media….or anything I can craft!

How long have you been practicing it?
I’ve been practicing craft since I can remember. I can remember loving carving linoleum in elementary school as well as the smell of it when you heated it with the iron!!
I can also distinctly remember my very first set of rubber stamps…um, I still have them!

Where do you get your Inspiration?

I think from my childish mentality/humor and my love of children. I love toys and children’s books and the colors and patters of children’s clothes.

I worked in a toy store for many years.
I am constantly looking at colors and artwork and design. My own children inspire me daily.

My 4 ½ year old is full of awesome ideas! My mind races with ideas and creations yet to be made.
I love art history as well as pop culture. I

think I tend to let the pencil and linoleum cutter do the rest.

That’s a tough one!! I’d say a villa in Italy for a month or a month long stay on a beautiful tropical island…can I do both?!

First item sold? When and what? ( can be both at Etsy and outside)
I actually don’t remember the specific person or shirt I sold…isn’t that awful?! I just remember selling a bunch of shirts to people at work as they were seeing my work evolve.

What would you order for your last meal?
Nothing specific comes to mind immediately…I’m sure it would be some kind of carb-loaded meal…probably some kind of pasta.

Do you have a good business advice?
Of all things I’ve heard and read , the one thing that sticks out in my mind is “love your product.” I think that is so true, how can you whole heartedly sell something you don’t believe in or trust or have passion for. I’d say another piece of advice that I try to follow, keep things fresh…try new things, be open to new ideas, don’t settle on what you have done already.

What advice would you give to a new artist\ Seller?
Seeing as I’m fairly new to etsy, I don’t know if I should be answering this or receiving this but I guess I would have to say two things…1. Be patient and 2. Get your name out there. I carry business cards with me everywhere and try to communicate with as many sources as my time allows.

What do you do to boost your sells on Etsy?
I’m still waiting!! Ha ha ha!!! I would LOVE to boost my sales…I guess both of the above are true for this one. Specifically, I’ve been interacting with more blogs, participating in forums, convo-ing with other artists (this one is so fun because you meet so many great people!). Any one have any advice for me now?! :)

It is only recently that I've discovered the real story of feminism. sadly, nobody teaches young girls about the mothers of feminism at school. when I read about all the amazing women that led the fight against discrimination, I cried. I was so moved from their courage and strength.
I'm talking about women like Betty Friedan, Bell hooks, Simon de Beauvoir.
But when I think of it my heroes are also my mother and grandmother and even my friends.

3. A lot of people are asking about Chrome browser so this is the answer regarding browsers-

Chrome doesn't offer toolbars yet, so no, you cant install Craftomania on it. We do support Safari,FireFox and IE. But the Safari version is younger and lacks certain features yet.

So - we suggest FireFox as a solution because its a gr8 browser.

4.We updated the Black & White Promotion, so go have a look :)

Hello Craftomanians!

We have many new friends aboard, some from the Treasury, which was an FP (YeY!), and many form the Etsy's forum, which was included in "Etsy Success" mail ( double "YeY!").

There were a lot of questions asked so let's get going with some answers:

1. So what does it do?

Craftomania Toolbar is more than a links index. It has many capabilities, gadgets and components, and they are all auto updated; meaning that the potential is endless for new innovations and ideas.
For instance, we are now working on a floating gadget that will let you know your shop hearts. Later we'll be adding one for item hearts and so on.. Until the Toolbar will basically be your control panel for Etsy missions.
Another upgrade we're working on, since it was asked by many, is on the next question…(2)

We will be issuing a post later on with all the components the toolbar currently has to offer like: Email notifier (get instant alert that you have mail from Etsy or anywhere), Radio (just plain cool!), weather forecast, and so on. Play with your toolbar options for a bit (down arrow next to the Craftomania logo), and have fun!

2. Is there a way I can put the Blogs that I want to follow under the blog icon?

This option will be available later on, it's kind of a technology challenge, which we're more than happy to face, but it will take some time..
In the mean time, please feel free to send us your favorite blogs and we'll do what we can to include them in our community. We love finding new blogs, so keep it coming..

3. Before I download...does it benefit me as a vintage seller on Etsy?

The Craftomania toolbar is an equal opportunity community :) , everybody benefits! Vintage and Handmade.

4. The buttons/icons don't look well when I use a browser theme..

With the upcoming .PNG icons, this will not be a problem anymore. We are in the process of replacing the buttons/icons to a transparent image file (.png), which means the icons will look smoother and clearer, even while using a browser theme.

5. Safari crashes or freezes when toolbar is installed.

This, of course, should not happen. The Safari support is relatively new, compared with Firefox and IE, which have more features and components available, and are more stable versions. Meanwhile, we are doing our best to get an ETA for the Safari fix, and we will post later when it is fixed.
We hope FF can serve for the meantime, it's a good browser.. But we respect your tech habits.. ;)

Greetings new friends

We had some very busy days here at the Craftomania headquarters. Nights turned into days and days turned into nights.. Possum thought she moved to New York and had a jet lag from all the weird hours she was now sleeping at. The bear is more of a night creature, so he was just happy that the possum kept him company working under the moon light.
but the long nights were not in vain. we have so many new friends joining our community these days! so keep an eye on that blog list it will get thicker soon.

Craftomania tools had a busy night

We were working all day long and started to get really tired around 1am. Possum got a keyboard mark on her forehead from falling asleep on her laptop... the bear was walking in circles trying to stay up. and than just when we were about to go see a movie ("Up in the air", which was great by the way...) and go to sleep. our good friend Amy Holton sent us a convo saying Craftomania's Bloggers treasury is on the front page! YEY! we started dancing and jumping, the possum almost cried....

It happened right in the middle of our "A tool to help you manage your store" post on the forum.
so much was happening all at once!

A new tool had been added to the toolbar- tools4etsy as a result...

we want to say thank for all the help!

We would like to share with our community a few great new links, tips etc.. we gathered lately.

1.socialmention is a great tool, we stayed up all night playing with it! typing in names and brands... we discovered for example that Noica's "Magic doll" animation was posted on blogs we don't even know about :) Thank you CakeBallers for sharing this great tool with us! you can find it under "Tools" on your Craftomania toolbar.

2.We made some changes, we have an improved "Design" button on the toolbar. it has websites and magazines you craftomanians can surly enjoy! so go ahead and click it :) we are adding to it new sites all the time.

3. If you are looking for 10 Small Business Social Media Marketing Tips.
These are great tips, especially for a new Etsy seller. we found them on akanedesigns blog.

It all happened one winter's day ..

It was cold, very cold. The rain drenched our hanging laundry and the thunder scared the living pooh out of the possum, we drank warm coco with marshmallows and ate some of mama bear's homemade cookies.

What finally warmed our hearts (besides the camp fire we built in the middle of our lair) were the enthusiastic responses to our Purple promotion campaign from our Craftomania community. We met new friends and discovered many new favorite sellers and items in gorgeous purple!

We wanted to take this opportunity to tell you how much your support is important to us and yourselves in order to maintain and increase our ever growing Craftomanians community. Keep in mind that more members in our community mean more exposure to your items and more friends in your network. And as we all know..It's all about connections.

If you haven’t already downloaded the Craftomania toolbar.. You should seek professional help! J Unfortunately, there are no handmade Psychiatrists at Etsy.. So just download and save yourself the years in future therapy talking about all the great promotions and tools you've missed.

They said it will rain tomorrow as well.. And there are a lot of cold sellers out there that don't know about our community.. They deserve more J

3. press Ctrl + C (Copy)
